Graduation Party

We had Brandon's graduation party yesterday, and had a wonderful, bittersweet time! We had an open house at the Community Bldg. at the park, and friends and relatives came by to wish Brandon well as he graduates from Heights and heads off to K-State in the fall. The first picture is our family, the second one is me and Corby with our "little" boy! Obviously he didn't get his height from either one of us! HA! The third picture is of Brandon and Diane, my best friend's daughter. Brandon and Diane have grown up together. We have some wonderful memories of these two when they were little. They were almost inseparable. We had a co-graduation party - and set out photos of the two of them together. They don't see each other as often anymore, as they've gone to different high schools, but we are still family!!! Last night we took Brandon and his two best friends, Owen and Brady, to On The Border for their graduation dinner. OTB is Brandon's favorite restaurant.

Today my family met at my sister's apartment to have a get-together for Mother's Day. With mom's health, it is difficult to go out to eat anymore, and our house is a wreck since we've been busy with the grad party, etc. Corby was so sweet and got me a portable dock for my Ipod. I can play it anywhere on batteries, or I can plug it in. Kaleb got me Blake Shelton's new CD - Pure BS. Kaitlin and Brandon didn't have money to spend right now - which is totally fine with me. Brandon needs to be saving his money for college anyway!

I just finished a good book: The Fifth Vial, by Michael Palmer. I've read all his books, and thoroughly enjoyed this one. I haven't decided what I will read next.

I am on vacation this week, and I am really looking forward to it. Of course, we have Diane's graduation Tuesday night, and Brandon's on Wednesday, so we will be busy!

My quote for the day: "If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured or far away." -- Henry David Thoreau

Ooh, "The fifth vial" looks exciting. Maybe I can borrow it when I visit?

I'll save it for you Lenore. I'm having a garage sale in June, but I will keep this book for you!

Isn't This Gross?

Corby lets Muffin drink out of his milk glass. Isn't that disgusting? I love animals, but I sure don't share my drinks with them. YUCK! Brandon will be home tomorrow - on his 19th birthday! His last final is at 12:30. Corby & Kaleb are headed up to help him bring his stuff home. I was planning on going, but because Hope is out on medical leave, I can't take off. That's okay - I really wasn't looking forward to carrying his stuff down 7 flights of stairs! YIPPEE - MY BABY IS COMING HOME FOR THE SUMMER! Does anyone else out there love "House Hunters" - the show on HGTV? For some reason, that show grabs me. I like to see the 3 houses the couples (sometimes singles) choose from. Of course, most of them have a lot more money than we do! Saw one last night that was a young couple in Chicago - lived in the inner city, but with 2 kids decided to move to the suburbs. Their goal was to find a house for under $1,000,000. That a million dollars folks! How can peop...

VACATION

On vacation for a few days (return to work on Thursday)...here's where I wish I was... I plan on enjoying some peace and quiet...and possibly, if I get motivated, getting some cleaning and organizing done in the office area of the basement. We'll see if that motivation arrives (it's not here yet)... Good news for Park City residents...recycling came to town the first of January. We are charged $4.00 month (added onto our already high water bill); but it has lowered the price of our trash pickup. The company P.C. contracted with has a much lower price than the company we use. Our company matched the price, so our trash bills went down (considerably) AND we get to recycle. We can recycle almost all our plastics, newspapers, cardboard, aluminum cans, cereal boxes, glass, motor oil, etc. We've got two big bags to set out tomorrow. Just doin' our part for the environment. We are without hot water right now...our hot water heater needs a new thermo-couple? It's a fair...
