VACATION

On vacation for a few days (return to work on Thursday)...here's where I wish I was...
I plan on enjoying some peace and quiet...and possibly, if I get motivated, getting some cleaning and organizing done in the office area of the basement. We'll see if that motivation arrives (it's not here yet)...

Good news for Park City residents...recycling came to town the first of January. We are charged $4.00 month (added onto our already high water bill); but it has lowered the price of our trash pickup. The company P.C. contracted with has a much lower price than the company we use. Our company matched the price, so our trash bills went down (considerably) AND we get to recycle. We can recycle almost all our plastics, newspapers, cardboard, aluminum cans, cereal boxes, glass, motor oil, etc. We've got two big bags to set out tomorrow. Just doin' our part for the environment.

We are without hot water right now...our hot water heater needs a new thermo-couple? It's a fairly new heater, but our model is involved in a class action lawsuit right now, specifically for this problem. Corby is picking up the part on his way home from work (hopefully), and our handy-man neighbor/friend Paul is going to help him replace it tonight. Because of the class-action lawsuit, we will be reimbursed for the part. I hope this fixes it, as I hate being without hot water!!!!!

Currently reading another Lisa Scottoline book. Think I'll be checking out more of hers from the library...

Today's quote: "You cannot depend on your eyes when your imagination is out of focus." -- Mark Twain

Today's music: some oldies - Three Dog Night, the Mamas & Papas and Cat Stevens...

mayonnaise cake is it for now. I am working to find a time for us bloggers to get together. Chris mentioned we might be able to use her house - and Corby can cook for us. We'll call it a "catering" job! HA! I say let's do it soon...

That sounds like a total blast.

I love the picture of paradise. I HATE winter. Justin & I are toying with the idea of taking a trip to Puerto Rico. Sure sounds good RIGHT NOW!!

Puerto Rico sounds great. Especially with the colder weather and sleet/snow headed this way!

I should have been more specific. The blogger night sounds like a blast, not the hot water heater project. Sorry.

I figured you meant the blogger party, and not the hot water heater, Heather! We finally got it fixed tonight...YEAH, hot water again! It sucks taking cold showers in the winter!

Isn't This Gross?

Corby lets Muffin drink out of his milk glass. Isn't that disgusting? I love animals, but I sure don't share my drinks with them. YUCK! Brandon will be home tomorrow - on his 19th birthday! His last final is at 12:30. Corby & Kaleb are headed up to help him bring his stuff home. I was planning on going, but because Hope is out on medical leave, I can't take off. That's okay - I really wasn't looking forward to carrying his stuff down 7 flights of stairs! YIPPEE - MY BABY IS COMING HOME FOR THE SUMMER! Does anyone else out there love "House Hunters" - the show on HGTV? For some reason, that show grabs me. I like to see the 3 houses the couples (sometimes singles) choose from. Of course, most of them have a lot more money than we do! Saw one last night that was a young couple in Chicago - lived in the inner city, but with 2 kids decided to move to the suburbs. Their goal was to find a house for under $1,000,000. That a million dollars folks! How can peop
