I'm Sad, But Life Goes On

Brandon just left to head back to Manhattan. I'm sad, but having your almost 20-year-old son spread his wings is a good feeling too! I'm so proud of Brandon. Though finding money for college has been a difficult road, he's persevered and will soon finish his sophomore year. He's a bright, warm, funny young man - and for those of you who know him - a bit on the shy side. I'm happy to say he has made many friends at K-State. He's also a good friend to Owen, a friend from grade school and Brady, a friend from middle school - who both live in Wichita. He's a good friend to his brother, Kaleb, and to his sister, Kaitlin. He's a great son to me and Corby! We have so enjoyed having him home for just over a week for spring break. We've watched movies, gone to the zoo, gone out to eat, celebrated the twins birthdays and played numerous games (and no, I didn't win any of them!). I'm going to miss him, but we will see him again on May 8th when he will be home for the weekend before his finals.

Godspeed son! Dad and I love you very much!

Isn't This Gross?

Corby lets Muffin drink out of his milk glass. Isn't that disgusting? I love animals, but I sure don't share my drinks with them. YUCK! Brandon will be home tomorrow - on his 19th birthday! His last final is at 12:30. Corby & Kaleb are headed up to help him bring his stuff home. I was planning on going, but because Hope is out on medical leave, I can't take off. That's okay - I really wasn't looking forward to carrying his stuff down 7 flights of stairs! YIPPEE - MY BABY IS COMING HOME FOR THE SUMMER! Does anyone else out there love "House Hunters" - the show on HGTV? For some reason, that show grabs me. I like to see the 3 houses the couples (sometimes singles) choose from. Of course, most of them have a lot more money than we do! Saw one last night that was a young couple in Chicago - lived in the inner city, but with 2 kids decided to move to the suburbs. Their goal was to find a house for under $1,000,000. That a million dollars folks! How can peop...

VACATION

On vacation for a few days (return to work on Thursday)...here's where I wish I was... I plan on enjoying some peace and quiet...and possibly, if I get motivated, getting some cleaning and organizing done in the office area of the basement. We'll see if that motivation arrives (it's not here yet)... Good news for Park City residents...recycling came to town the first of January. We are charged $4.00 month (added onto our already high water bill); but it has lowered the price of our trash pickup. The company P.C. contracted with has a much lower price than the company we use. Our company matched the price, so our trash bills went down (considerably) AND we get to recycle. We can recycle almost all our plastics, newspapers, cardboard, aluminum cans, cereal boxes, glass, motor oil, etc. We've got two big bags to set out tomorrow. Just doin' our part for the environment. We are without hot water right now...our hot water heater needs a new thermo-couple? It's a fair...
