It's definitely that time of year!
Tuesday night, I worked the Eagle's Open House from 5-7:30pm. My boss and I ran the "kids room", and had a lot of fun doing it. We had two pressmen who were making hats out of newsprint for the kids - that seemed to be the most popular kids event. We had newsprint covering one wall of our conference room - our advertising artists drew winter scenes on it, and the kids colored it. We also had some stamps made out of our press plates. Last year we had approximately 400 people come to our open house, this year we estimate around 1200 attendees. It was a lot of fun, and there were a bunch of volunteers who were tired on Wednesday!
Thursday night, Corby and I went to mom's Christmas dinner at the nursing home. I forgot to take my camera, so I don't have any pictures to share. It was held in the main crystal dining room, which they had decorated beautifully for the holidays. I was really impressed with the huge tree, decorated with purple and silver ornaments! There was a young man who played guitar and sang Christmas carols while the nursing staff served our meal. Our table also included mom's friend Ernestine, and her favorite nurse Tammy. I think mom had a good time!
Saturday night I went out with my best friend Melody. Our first stop was Margarita's, for dinner and - you guess it - margaritas! We had a wonderful visit! Here are some pics:

The second part of our evening was spent at Century II, seeing The Nutcracker, performed by Ballet Wichita. I had never seen The Nutcracker, though I knew most of the music. It was very enjoyable!
I am planning on enjoying the next few days. I am on vacation Monday and Tuesday, and hope to get my Christmas shopping and cards done. I'm almost there, so hopefully my plans with be successful!
