Appliance Hell

It hasn't been a good day for us! Woke up this morning to a refrigerator that wasn't very cold. We moved everything out of the freezer to the chest freezer in the basement, and put the things we could salvage in coolers with ice. Corby then spent several hours sucking dirt and dust out of the vents and around the condenser, etc. After several hours of cleaning he plugged it back in and it seems to be working. We haven't put everything back in there. Will wait until morning to make sure it is working. Then this evening our washer quit. I was down to about 3 loads of laundry left to do, and it stopped before spinning the load of boys work shirts. Kaitlin and I had to squeeze water out of the entire load so we could put it in the dryer. Corby looked at it, and thinks it's the pump. He's hoping Paul, our favorite neighbor and handyman, can help him fix it tomorrow night!

I had to go down to work today to add pages to tomorrow's paper due to the tornado in Greensburg and flooding in Ellinwood. I also put in a late 5x18 insurance ad. I imagine we will be adding some more insurance company ads to both the Tues. and Wed. paper.

We had storms off and on all day. Cinnamon spent most of the day in the house. Even though she's this big strong husky/chow, she's a baby when it comes to storms! In fact, Corby had to let her inside about 4 this morning.

I picked my quote of the day because of the trying times we had today: "Write it in your heart that every day is the best day of the year." -- Ralph Waldo Emerson

VACATION

On vacation for a few days (return to work on Thursday)...here's where I wish I was... I plan on enjoying some peace and quiet...and possibly, if I get motivated, getting some cleaning and organizing done in the office area of the basement. We'll see if that motivation arrives (it's not here yet)... Good news for Park City residents...recycling came to town the first of January. We are charged $4.00 month (added onto our already high water bill); but it has lowered the price of our trash pickup. The company P.C. contracted with has a much lower price than the company we use. Our company matched the price, so our trash bills went down (considerably) AND we get to recycle. We can recycle almost all our plastics, newspapers, cardboard, aluminum cans, cereal boxes, glass, motor oil, etc. We've got two big bags to set out tomorrow. Just doin' our part for the environment. We are without hot water right now...our hot water heater needs a new thermo-couple? It's a fair

Isn't This Gross?

Corby lets Muffin drink out of his milk glass. Isn't that disgusting? I love animals, but I sure don't share my drinks with them. YUCK! Brandon will be home tomorrow - on his 19th birthday! His last final is at 12:30. Corby & Kaleb are headed up to help him bring his stuff home. I was planning on going, but because Hope is out on medical leave, I can't take off. That's okay - I really wasn't looking forward to carrying his stuff down 7 flights of stairs! YIPPEE - MY BABY IS COMING HOME FOR THE SUMMER! Does anyone else out there love "House Hunters" - the show on HGTV? For some reason, that show grabs me. I like to see the 3 houses the couples (sometimes singles) choose from. Of course, most of them have a lot more money than we do! Saw one last night that was a young couple in Chicago - lived in the inner city, but with 2 kids decided to move to the suburbs. Their goal was to find a house for under $1,000,000. That a million dollars folks! How can peop
