Scholarship? Hopefully?

I couldn't resist posting another senior picture from Brandon's gallery. Perhaps because we scurried around the last few days to get all the information together to apply for a scholarship from our church. Today was the deadline, and I was at church at 4:30 hand-delivering the application. Nothing like "cutting it close!" Our best friend, Melody, was gracious enough to write a letter of recommendation; and Brandon's Arch CAD teacher wrote the other letter. That and his official transcript were the last pieces of the puzzle. Now we are praying that he gets some money - his college education is going to be expensive, and we just don't have much money to help him. He's going to have to make it on scholarships, loans and working. I know he'll be successful because he's proved to us the last few years of working at Leeker's that he has a good work ethic. That's one thing he got from both me and his dad. We are very honest, dependable hard workers, and I hope we've instilled that in our children. Kaleb and Kaitlin are showing the same work ethic so far, even though they've only been working a little over a month! Can you tell we are proud of our kids?!?!? LOVE YOU GUYS!

Rain, rain, go away! We have had a very rainy spring, and the 10 day forecast shows rain for the next 8 days! YUCK!!!!!

My quote for today comes from Proverbs 22:6 -- "Train a child in the way he should go, and when is is old he will not turn from it." I think this quote is pertinent to today's post.

VACATION

On vacation for a few days (return to work on Thursday)...here's where I wish I was... I plan on enjoying some peace and quiet...and possibly, if I get motivated, getting some cleaning and organizing done in the office area of the basement. We'll see if that motivation arrives (it's not here yet)... Good news for Park City residents...recycling came to town the first of January. We are charged $4.00 month (added onto our already high water bill); but it has lowered the price of our trash pickup. The company P.C. contracted with has a much lower price than the company we use. Our company matched the price, so our trash bills went down (considerably) AND we get to recycle. We can recycle almost all our plastics, newspapers, cardboard, aluminum cans, cereal boxes, glass, motor oil, etc. We've got two big bags to set out tomorrow. Just doin' our part for the environment. We are without hot water right now...our hot water heater needs a new thermo-couple? It's a fair

Isn't This Gross?

Corby lets Muffin drink out of his milk glass. Isn't that disgusting? I love animals, but I sure don't share my drinks with them. YUCK! Brandon will be home tomorrow - on his 19th birthday! His last final is at 12:30. Corby & Kaleb are headed up to help him bring his stuff home. I was planning on going, but because Hope is out on medical leave, I can't take off. That's okay - I really wasn't looking forward to carrying his stuff down 7 flights of stairs! YIPPEE - MY BABY IS COMING HOME FOR THE SUMMER! Does anyone else out there love "House Hunters" - the show on HGTV? For some reason, that show grabs me. I like to see the 3 houses the couples (sometimes singles) choose from. Of course, most of them have a lot more money than we do! Saw one last night that was a young couple in Chicago - lived in the inner city, but with 2 kids decided to move to the suburbs. Their goal was to find a house for under $1,000,000. That a million dollars folks! How can peop
