Joe Don

Joe Don Rooney - from Rascal Flatts Yesterday was quite a day! We got to the hotel in OKC around 3pm. The information Kaitlin had from the fan club said she could pick up her meet & greet pass and tickets at 4pm. We went over to the Ford Center (just across the street from the hotel) and found out that the pass & tickets wouldn't be available until 5pm. While we were waiting, we decided to walk down to Toby Keith's restaurant - I Love This Bar & Grill - in Bricktown. Kaleb treated us to an early dinner. The food was good (not great), the service was a bit lacking, but the restaurant itself was fairly impressive. Lots of Toby memorabilia - the front of a tour bus hanging in the wall, a painted picture of Toby with his American flag guitar, an American Flag motorcycle; and the seats for the people waiting to be seated were tailgates to pickup trucks. Pretty cool. It was only a few blocks from the hotel. We went back to the hotel, freshened up, and then picked up Kaitl

OKC-Here We Come!

Yes, we are headed to OKC tomorrow afternoon for the Rascal Flatts concert. Anybody who knows Kaitlin knows that she LOVES RF! Last year we went to 4 RF concerts: Wichita (pictured above), Oklahoma City, St. Louis and Kansas City. Kaitlin is in their fan club, and got MEET & GREET passes, so before the show, she'll get to go backstage, meet the guys and get her picture taken with them. Needless to say, she's a bit excited! We will be spending the night and heading home on Friday. Kaleb is going with us for fun - but he isn't going to the concert. He didn't want to spend the money! He'll hang out at the hotel while we're at the concert. They have to get up and go to work with me in the morning. I'll work half a day, and we'll leave from there at noon. LIFE IS A HIGHWAY............... Current book: Fleeced by Carol Higgins Clark. I've read most of her books - they're pretty good. Not quite as good as her mother's books (Mary Higgins Clark).

Life

The last few weeks have been very rough. After mom spent almost a week in the Hutchinson Hospital, we moved her into the Health Care area at Presbyterian Manor. She was not able to go back to independent living. The first couple of days were hard for her, but she seems to be adjusting. They have a lot of activities, and they are keeping her busy. We are hoping to get her a private room, but so far one isn't open, so she is sharing with another lady, whose name is Yvonne. I have yet to meet her, she is rarely in the room. Now we need to get mom's apartment cleaned out. We plan on doing that next weekend, though we may do some packing this weekend. I went to the doctor on Tuesday. I had been having blurry vision in one eye, and a bad headache on the right side of my head. The doctor wanted me to see the eye doctor right away, but also did some blood tests to determine if I had some sort of templar infection over my right eye (I don't). However, the blood tests show that I hav

Survival

We had a terrible weekend! Mom had an hallucinatory panic attack late Friday afternoon. Terry took her to St. Francis, on the recommendation of the head nurse at Presbyterian Manor. I met them in the E.R. after I got done at work - around 8pm. They did blood work, a CT scan, etc. and could find no medical reason; so they sent us to St. Joseph's Geriatric Psych unit around 2:30am Saturday. They transported mom by mini-bus, and Corby, Mike, Diana and I followed her over there. We sent Terry home at that point. We really thought that they would admit her; but we found out after they transported her there - there were no beds available! The next 6 1/2-7 hours were spent doing a video-hookup psych evaluation, waiting for results, and then waiting for them to find her a bed somewhere. They decided that she did need hospitalized, but they couldn't find any beds in the Wichita area. We were finally sent to the Hutchinson Hospital around 9:30am. We had sent Mike & Diana home around

Pretzel Sunday

I just love this picture of Muffin. Whenever I separate laundry, she has to jump into the baskets of clothes (yuck!). Last week she stayed in this basket while I was throwing jeans in it. I finally got down on the floor and took her picture buried under several pairs of jeans. Too cute, but she's not too smart! The second photo is Corby and Kaitlin's first attempt ever at making pretzels. As they were rolling them out, they both complained that they weren't going to turn out - said the dough was too thick and hard to handle. Well, THEY ARE GREAT! I brushed a little butter on my warm pretzel, and YUM, YUM, YUM! Kaitlin and I both like the Aunt Annie's pretzels at the mall, and these are very comparable! Now I have my own pretzel makers at home! That's nice, as we very rarely go to the mall. Brandon and I got online this morning and applied for his school loan, the part he has to supplement. It's a lot of money for freshman year, so of course, we had to co-sign f
