Puttin' On The Ritz

Every year the Heights Music Department puts on their year-end program - Puttin' on the Ritz. This picture of Kaitlin is actually from last year's show. I was unable to get a picture of her this year. They performed the show the last 2 nights, and we went to last night's show. It was wonderful! All the kids did great! Kaitlin's group, the Concert Choir, performed several times. Their first grouping was of TV shows from the 50's-70's - Happy Days, Beverly Hillbillies, Laverne & Shirley, The Addams Family, and I Love Lucy, among others. It was really cute - they danced a bit and did some funny things during the songs. Their second performance was at the end of the show - they sang "How Do We Say Goodbye" to honor the seniors. Right before they sang they did a slide show of the seniors - showing a baby/childhood picture and then their senior picture. Brandon's friend, Brady, is in the jazz band (they were awesome!), and his baby picture was really cute. I knew it was him right away! Melody went with us and we all had a great time! Thanks for the memories!

There is some sad news in Kansas today. There was a devastating tornado in Greensburg last night - obliterating the town. The death count is 9 right now, but there may be more as they are still digging through rubble. I had to go to work today to add pages for tomorrow's edition. After I got home I got a call from the VP/Advertising and one of the insurance companies wants to get a big ad in on Monday, so I will be going down to work tomorrow to take care of it. Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to the community of Greensburg.

I'll end my post tonight with this quote: "One word frees us of all the weight and pain of life: that word is LOVE." -- Sophocles

K-STATE WINS!

K-STATE beat KU! AWESOME! It was a tense game. Corby is a huge KU fan, and even having a son at K-State hasn't changed that. I am happy when any Kansas team does well; but I had to root for K-State tonight. If the Jayhawks had to lose, I'm glad it was to K-State. Michael Beasley is a great player, and my only concern is that he will leave after his freshman year and go pro. WAY TO GO CATS!
