FINALLY - a restful day! Well - except for doing laundry, moving some furniture around and paying bills! We put mom's dining room table upstairs in the kitchen, and moved our set down to the den. We sold our little round table that we had downstairs since we knew we were getting mom's table. Now we'll have more seating when we entertain.
Don't you just love these two stamp sets? That's something I got accomplished today too - putting those sets together.
Still reading my Danielle Steel book, but I don't think it will take too long. I started a "book list" of books I want to put on hold at the library. Some I already have put on hold, like: Justice Denied by J.A. Jance; Burnt House by Faye Kellerman; Power Play by Joseph Finder; Beyond Reach by Karin Slaughter and The Quickie by James Patterson -- all some of my favorite authors. Here are a few more I want to put on hold: High Noon by Nora Roberts; What Matters Most by Luanne Rice; The Sleeping Doll by Jeffery Deaver; Almost Dead by Lisa Jackson; Up Close and Personal by Fern Michaels; Double Cross by James Patterson; You've Been Warned by James Patterson (does this guy write a book every few weeks or what?); Up Close and Dangerous by Linda Howard; and 74 Seaside Avenue by Debbie Macomber. It only costs a quarter to put a book on hold - much cheaper than buying them!
What about Barry Bonds tying Hank Aaron's home run record? I gotta say, I think he's a cheater by using steroids, so I'm really not thinking it's as great an accomplishment as Hank's! Personal opinion there folks!
And we vote on Tuesday - YES or NO for Casinos in Sedgwick County. I prefer to keep my political views to myself (don't like to debate), so I won't say how I'm going to vote. I just hope folks get out there and VOTE!
Kaitlin went off to work at Wendy's tonight at 7 (I know, a weird start time) glad that it's her last night to close the lobby. Closing the lobby involves a LOT of cleaning - cleaning all of the tables in the lobby, sweeping the carpet in the lobby, cleaning the bathrooms, re-stocking everything, and then wet-vaccing the tile by the front counters. She starts at Leeker's tomorrow - training as a sacker. I think all 3 kids work 4-8 tomorrow! Kaleb came home for lunch today with good news! He's getting promoted to work in the dairy. It's Brandon's old position, and since Brandon's last day is the 16th, he'll start getting trained this week. He won't work all his hours in the dairy, but probably Sat. and Sun. and another day during the week. He'll like the cold air - especially as hot as it's been the last few days!
Today's music: Frontiers by Journey - some good old late 70's/early 80's rock! Don't Stop Believin.........
