She survived another week!

My favorite "Dancer with the Stars" - Marie Osmond - made it another week! I was worried that this might be her last week since her scores were so low last night. I hope she comes back next week and dances her legs off. More power to her and Jane Seymour - the oldies. Gotta be proud of those OP's! Thank goodness they finally let Mark Cuban go. He was excitable and happy to be there, but didn't show much with his dancing as far as I was concerned. GO MARIE! (Though I think Cheetah girl or Spice girl is going to win)...

Kaitlin was late getting home from work tonight. She was supposed to get off at 8, but at 7:45 they had a huge order - 2 baskets overflowing with groceries - and the couple spent over $500! It took 25 minutes to get thru their order, get it bagged, and get it in their Suburban. Don't know about you, but I've never spent $500 on groceries all at once before. (Never have $500 hanging around you know!)

You can finally tell it's the fourth quarter at work. October through December is always crazy, but this year it was a little late getting started. It hit this week! I'm sure it will be wild for the next couple of months.

Am halfway through my Debbie Macomber book, still need to read "Let's Roll", and the library left a message today that I have another book to pick up from being on hold. I've got to get busy reading!

My music choice today was a great Christian band - MercyMe! Love their music!

I've never spent $500, but a couple of weeks ago I did spend $350. Needless to say, the husband was not too pleased. Grocery shopping is my favorite kind of shopping. I LOVE IT!
BTW - I love the quote. It is very true.

i'm tired ... thus cynical. i wonder if the $500 order was paid for by cash, check, credit, or food stamps. cuz when i worked at dillon's... never failed i'd have someone dressed to the nines... with multiple gold chains on... rings on every finger... spend $300 minimum on groceries... at the end of my shift... then as i was leaving work... i'd see them loading their groceries into their NEW car. hmmm... just never made sense to me. and irritated me since i was working two jobs so that losers like them could take advantage of the system. i am all for helping those who really need it, not the ones who abuse it - and take away from others.

Kaitlin said they paid by check (hope it was good!)...yeah, I hate to see people use food stamps and buy better food than I can afford! UGH!
If Ratatouille (from the pixar movie) were on food stamps, he would only buy the good stuff.

VACATION

On vacation for a few days (return to work on Thursday)...here's where I wish I was... I plan on enjoying some peace and quiet...and possibly, if I get motivated, getting some cleaning and organizing done in the office area of the basement. We'll see if that motivation arrives (it's not here yet)... Good news for Park City residents...recycling came to town the first of January. We are charged $4.00 month (added onto our already high water bill); but it has lowered the price of our trash pickup. The company P.C. contracted with has a much lower price than the company we use. Our company matched the price, so our trash bills went down (considerably) AND we get to recycle. We can recycle almost all our plastics, newspapers, cardboard, aluminum cans, cereal boxes, glass, motor oil, etc. We've got two big bags to set out tomorrow. Just doin' our part for the environment. We are without hot water right now...our hot water heater needs a new thermo-couple? It's a fair

Fun times with Lenore

While Lenore and Daniel were here, she had a library book panel at the Johnson County Library in Overland Park. So, on Tuesday afternoon, November 27th, Lenore, her friend Rachelle and I took off for KC. We had a great time visiting on the way up and back, and I didn't get tired at all driving! We stopped for a quick bite to eat at Arby's and filled up with gas at QT before heading to the library. It was an interesting panel featuring Bethany Hagen, author of Landry Park, which comes out next year; Gennifer Albin, author of Crewel, which was released a few months ago; and Lenore, whose book will be released on January 15. Here's the panel: Me & Lenore: Lenore & Rachelle: Gennifer, Bethany and Lenore
