10?? Things I Love

Okay, now that I've done the "10 Things I Hate..." post, I'm told I have to do the "10 Things I Love..." post. So - here goes. I may not be able to stop at 10 - we'll see...

1) GOD. No explanation necessary.
2) MY FAMILY. My husband - quite possibly the best husband anywhere. I am so lucky that he LOVES to cook and clean! My kids - three teenagers who I am VERY proud of, and who have caused us NO trouble whatsoever. See the lucky streak here? My mom, my 2 sisters and 2 brothers, my nephews and my favorite niece, Lenore. For those of you new to the blog, you can access Lenore's blog under my favorites "Presenting Lenore". She is a world traveler, currently living in Germany with her German husband of a year and a half, Daniel.
3) MY FRIENDS. I have the best friends in the world! And you all know who you are!
4) SCRAPBOOKING. Don't get to spend enough time doing it, but still love it!
5) CORBY'S CHEESECAKE. Some of you have been lucky enough to sample it. It's awesome!
6) BARRY MANILOW. A consummate performer and entertainer. Especially enjoyed seeing him at the Hilton in Las Vegas in 2005!
7) CROSSWORD PUZZLES, SUDOKU, JUMBLE, ETC. Yep, you can tell I'm from the older generation. My dad turned me on to crossword puzzles when I was young, and I still enjoy them to this day. Not as good at Sudoku, but I try the easy and medium ones.
8) HOUSE HUNTERS on HGTV. I love to ogle the houses they look at, and then see what changes they make after they pick one and move in. It gives me a lots of ideas. Now, if we could just afford to implement some of those ideas!
9) MY COMPUTER. Yes, I love to surf the net, read blogs, shop online. How did we ever live without them?
10) MY SPACE HEATER. I hibernate in the basement where our family room/office is, and it gets durn cold down here. Gotta have that heat!
11) (see, I told you I couldn't stop at 10) OUR WATERBED. We bought a king size waterbed right before we got married, had it delivered 2 days after we got married, and I love it to this day. By the way, our 20th anniversary is Dec. 26th!
12) CLASSIC ROCK. Give me Bob Seger, Styx, Boston, REO Speedwagon, Kansas, Journey, etc. any day!
13) CANDLES. Preferably Yankee or Party Lite.
14) LONGABERGER BASKETS. Some of you know I used to sell them. Pretty much have all I need, but still love the smell of a new basket! This picture is of their home office in Ohio - yes, it's their market basket. I've been there, and it's amazing!
15) CHRISTMAS. I know it's a stressful time of year, especially at my job; but I still love it!
16) SWEETS. I'm not ashamed to admit I have a sweet tooth. Wish I didn't, but I do! I love Corby's chocolate chip cookies, oatmeal cookies, apple pies, pecan pies, etc., etc., etc. (the list is endless!)

Okay, guess I'll stop. I could list a lot more things, but I'm sure it's getting boring by now!

Linda -
I love my family, friends, Corby's cheesecake (if i had the opportunity to try it), crossword puzzles (thank you to my late grandma and grandpa in Kentucky), classic rock (Fleetwood Mac and Bob Seger ALL THE WAY) and Christmas. I hear you regarding work. It's my BUSIEST time the whole year. I know it's weird, but a lot of folks pass away this time of year.

I will have Corby make a cheesecake specifically for work one of these days and make sure you get a piece, Heather!

VACATION

On vacation for a few days (return to work on Thursday)...here's where I wish I was... I plan on enjoying some peace and quiet...and possibly, if I get motivated, getting some cleaning and organizing done in the office area of the basement. We'll see if that motivation arrives (it's not here yet)... Good news for Park City residents...recycling came to town the first of January. We are charged $4.00 month (added onto our already high water bill); but it has lowered the price of our trash pickup. The company P.C. contracted with has a much lower price than the company we use. Our company matched the price, so our trash bills went down (considerably) AND we get to recycle. We can recycle almost all our plastics, newspapers, cardboard, aluminum cans, cereal boxes, glass, motor oil, etc. We've got two big bags to set out tomorrow. Just doin' our part for the environment. We are without hot water right now...our hot water heater needs a new thermo-couple? It's a fair

Fun times with Lenore

While Lenore and Daniel were here, she had a library book panel at the Johnson County Library in Overland Park. So, on Tuesday afternoon, November 27th, Lenore, her friend Rachelle and I took off for KC. We had a great time visiting on the way up and back, and I didn't get tired at all driving! We stopped for a quick bite to eat at Arby's and filled up with gas at QT before heading to the library. It was an interesting panel featuring Bethany Hagen, author of Landry Park, which comes out next year; Gennifer Albin, author of Crewel, which was released a few months ago; and Lenore, whose book will be released on January 15. Here's the panel: Me & Lenore: Lenore & Rachelle: Gennifer, Bethany and Lenore
