L-O-N-G DAY!

I went to work early this morning, to cover the pressroom since our production manager had to work last night. I left work about 5:30, just to get home and get called back in to work. Now Heather, IT WASN'T YOUR FAULT! How could we know that so many people would pass away? It's always sad to lose a loved one, but wow - so many people passed away that our obits tomorrow will be over 2 1/3 pages! That has never happened on a Wednesday before. And, of course, it had to happen when we were maxed out on press! 40 pages is the maximum we can run until we get our web cut-down completed. One press down, one to go! Anyway, news had to lose about 8 columns of space. Thanks guys...though you really didn't have any choice! And Heather, I'm relaxing now by having my second margarita, so things are cool!

Here's a picture of our neighbor dog, Sadie, who is sharing the yard with Cinnamon since we are replacing the fence in between our yards.
She sits on our deck most of the time, watching Muffin. Of course, Muffin loves to antagonize her! I was actually out on the deck taking these pictures when I got called back to work...

Still waiting to find out if my pick for President, Hillary Clinton, will win Ohio and Texas. Right now it is too close to call. Whether she wins the Democratic nomination or not, I am voting Democrat. Things are so bad right now, we've got to get Bush out of there. Okay - that's my
political view - and that's all I'll say.

Rhonda was moved last night to a rehabilitation hospital. They are going to get her mobile so she can go home. I have no idea how long she will be there, but hopefully no longer than a week! She has goals she will have to meet to be released.

Looking forward to the Keith Urban concert Thursday night! I don't plan on taking my camera because we are way up at the top of the Coliseum, so I couldn't get anything decent anyway. You'll just have to read my review afterwards.

And our Tuesday, March 4, 2008 quote is: "Only as high as I reach can I grow, Only as far as I seek can I go, Only as deep as I look can I see, Only as much as I dream can I be." ---- Karen Ravn

So sorry Linda. I'm feeling good after having a couple of salty dogs and a beer. Man, what a rough day!

First Day of School

It's tradition at my house to take a "first day of school" picture. The kids get less and less thrilled every year, but I still do it. Here are the twins before they left for their first day of senior year: Kind of funny that they both wore gray - unplanned of course! I think Kaitlin is putting in her plug for the college she'd like to go to. They had a good day. Found out that at 1800 students, Heights is over their limit by 400 students!!! OMG! I'm not sure what the answer is, but it is WAY TOO CROWDED! I think the northeast side of town needs a new high school. Something needs to be done! Just finished my Nora Roberts book, and have started New Moon, the second book in Stephenie Meyer's vampire series. Kaitlin took Abby to the vet yesterday to get her last distemper shot and a rabies shot. The vet told her that she comes from a line of very strong / physically superior cats. I knew there was some reason that she climbs EVERYWHERE in the house, including u...
