LONGGGGGGGGGGGGG AFTERNOON!

Mom had a doctor's appointment at 3 today. I got home at 7. I got to Presby. Manor at 2:20 to pick her up. 20 minutes later, after chasing down her nurse, we got the paperwork we needed to take to the doctor. I must interject, they normally have the paperwork ready. Today wasn't a good day to be running late though, as her doctor recently moved to Derby, so we were headed quite a distance to a place we'd never been before. We hit Derby about 3:05, but the directions I'd been given were bogus. After driving around, stopping twice for directions, and calling the clinic, we finally made it at 3:25. When we checked in, we were told that we may have to reschedule because we were more than 15 minutes late. Fortunately, the doctor said she'd go ahead and take us. After a 5 minute wait, the nurse took us back and we answered all of her questions. ONE HOUR LATER, at 5:15, we were still waiting on the doctor. Mom and I were having a great visit, so we weren't freaking out. The doctor finally came in at 5:30 and apologized. Apparently, she looked for mom and when she didn't realize we were in one of the rooms, she moved on to the next patient. That patient ended up being a HUGE problem, and when she finally left that patient they told her we were still there. She felt really bad, but still.....IT WAS A LONG AFTERNOON! We finally left the doctor's office at 6, and after stopping for NuWay and taking mom home, I got home at 7. And yes, I needed a beer by the time I got home!

no, she's now at the Wichita Clinic there. She was down by St. Francis, which worked great, but man, Derby is a long ways to go from Zoo & West!

It's easy...just click on comment, and if you don't have any of the accounts set up that are listed, you can post as "anonymous". Just identify yourself in the comment. I'd like to know how many people out there are actually reading my blog, albeit occasionally. THANKS!

Margaritaville!

We had a wonderful get-together at On the Border this afternoon. The margaritas were great! Of course, I was the only one drinking - and I'm not even much of a drinker. It was great seeing my niece, Lenore and my nephew, Nick. Even though Nick lives here, I don't get to see him much, as his work hours prevent us from seeing much of each other. We did make a pact to get together and see a movie over the Thankgiving holiday. We will be going to Oklahoma on Thanksgiving to spend it with Charles, but I'll have to come back Thanksgiving night as I have to work on Friday. Here are some pictures from our afternoon out. Kaleb with Nick (Brandon provided Kaleb's rabbit ears)... Kaitlin and Brandon Mom, Terry, Sandy and Lenore Lenore and Mike Ryan and Diana Diana in her Garth t-shirt (I can't wait until tomorrow night!) Me with my sister Rhonda Mom and Lenore THE WHOLE CREW minus me - I'd rather be taking the picture! We are childless tonight, as Brandon went to a concert...
