Finally Finished!

I finally finished the 4th and last book in the Stephenie Meyer vampire series - Breaking Dawn. These books are aimed at teenage girls, so they are pretty quick reads. I enjoyed all of them, but Breaking Dawn was a bit painful and convoluted. I think it was probably 50-100 pages too long, but ended well. I think she could continue this series...with some new characters. If anyone wants to read these, I have all 4 books. I am getting ready to loan them to a friend, but let me know and I'll pass them on to you. Otherwise, I'll be putting them in my next garage sale.

Corby, the kids and I went to the Coliseum this morning for the monthly flea market. I have never been to it, even though we live just down the road. It only costs $1 per person to enter, and there are tons of cool things. I saw so many things that we had when I was a kid, or that my mom or grandparents used to have. It's all worth good money now of course! Why didn't I keep that plastic Barbie case? Or the Batman lunchbox? We didn't spend much money. I picked up a couple of DVD's and Kaitlin bought a couple too. I did find some very neat cabinets, desks and armoires, but decided we really don't have space for anything new - unless we get rid of some stuff first. Anyway, we really enjoyed going, and honestly, prices weren't too bad. I do think someone was selling some of my old Barry Manilow and Osmond albums, but...my bad, since I got rid of them all years ago.

I am not really ready to go back to work tomorrow, but I don't have much choice. I sure could use another week of vacation. I've never taken 2 weeks off just to stay at home. In fact, in almost 32 years of working there, there have only been about 5 times that I've taken complete weeks off. Usually I take a day or two here and there. Of course, that doesn't count the two pregnancies - 6 weeks off when Brandon was born, and 3 months off with the twins - 6 weeks before they were born and 6 weeks after. But that's been so long ago, I can't even remember it - HA!

I talked to Brandon today. He won't be coming home until Thanksgiving. He's trying to work as much as possible, and he usually works 16 hours on the weekend. We'll probably try to go visit him the first part of October. Hopefully I will be getting my car back soon. ---- Sales is trying to find a replacement engine, of which I will NOT be paying one penny for. I am still not naming the used car lot until I make sure they are going to finish this deal with honor and dignity. If they don't, I will be shouting their name across the internet and world for all to see.

Kaleb got the new ROCK BAND video game today. And believe me, I am feeling it. His bedroom is right above my office area in the basement and I've been hearing the thumping drums all afternoon. UGH!

Kaitlin went with a friend to see The Dark Knight - for the FIFTH time! This girl is OBSESSED with Christian Bale. I don't get it - he's cute - but not cute enough to get obsessed about!

And a quote for this Sunday: "We all have our time machines. Some take us back; they're called memories. Some take us forward; they're called dreams." -- Jeremy Irons

Comments

I'd like to read Twilight, but I'm not sure about the others.

Christian Bale is one of my faves too. But one viewing of the Dark Knight was enough for me.

The movie Twilight should be released in November. Megan and I can't wait to see it! You can go to Stephenie Meyer's web site to check out the trailer. Also she is writing a 5th book, can't wait till that one comes out too. If you have the hard back books, Megan is interested in buying the first and second ones. Just let us know.

My sister loves those books, but of course she is 15. That flea market looked fun! I didn't know anything about that going on. Well, I hope you are enjoying your second day back to work.

What's Good

Here's what's good right now: 1. Corby's OKAY after an accident at work today! He was on the forklift pulling onto a truck when the truck driver pulled away from the dock apparently to reallign himself (WHAT AN IDIOT DRIVER!!!) and he fell off the dock. Thank goodness there is a roll-bar on those forklifts. He has a headache and will probably be stiff tomorrow, but says he is okay. They sent him for a drug test. It's their policy if someone has an accident at work. 2. Feeling much better. I'm about 75% well now. Still have a cough and some sinus issues, but I think I'll survive. 3. Spending today with Kaleb & Kaitlin. 4. Having such good kids. Leeker's just called Kaitlin to see if she'd work longer hours today. They have a lot of employees out sick. She was supposed to work 4-8, but volunteered to work 2-9. Here's a pat on the back hon! 5. Enjoying some Josh Groban music. 6. Cleaning out my file cabinet and getting ready for 2008. I know, I...
