College Life!

We got word Wednesday night that Brandon's roommate will not be returning to K-State second semester due to poor grades. Poor kid! He's our "third" son, so I feel really bad for him. That said, it's been a mad rush trying to make other living arrangements. They already had a "new" third person moving into their apartment for 2nd semester, and Brandon wasn't too cool with finding another "new" roommate. He's kind of a shy guy, and I don't really blame him. So - he's moving back to the dorms! Corby and I have to take Tuesday off and go to Manhattan to play the "apartment/dorm" switch-a-roo! We'll be cleaning his apartment, loading up Kaitlin's truck to bring his stuff home, and then moving him to the dorm. Sounds like fun, huh? Not really, but - at least we get to see him! He'll still have a new roommate - but he'll be in the dorms where he'll be able to make new friends.

Friday night I went to Sandy's (my sister-in-law) to make some cards with her Stampin' Up group. We had a good time, even though I only made two of the four cards. I brought the rest of the projects home with me so I can finish them here. I told Sandy she needs to build a big building on the side of their house to accommodate her card-making parties! They've got a nice big house, and a good-sized basement, but her parties are pretty popular so we were kind of packed in there! I just wish I was as creative as Sandy...

We went to Panera yesterday morning for breakfast. We haven't been there in ages, and we never eat out for breakfast, so it was a treat! I absolutely LOVE their "everything" bagels! YUMMY!

Last night we went out with our friends Susan and Dennis. We ate at ON THE BORDER and then went and saw MARLEY & ME! Really good movie! I'll warn you though, take some tissues! We had a great time! (Thanks for driving Dennis!) Kaitlin had to work, and Kaleb went bowling with a bunch of friends. Funny story though...Kaitlin texted me while we were in the movie. In case you haven't been to the Warren Theatres in a while, they have banned cell phones. So even though I could feel my phone vibrating around 11:30, I couldn't check to see who it was until the movie was over about midnight. Her text was "where r u?". I texted her back and said "leaving movie". When we got home she came running out the front door and told us we missed our curfew! HA! Cracked me up! I guess she was worried about us because she didn't think we'd be out that late!

Today we cleaned out the garage, and the little refrigerator we'll be taking up to Brandon. We took Cinnamon for a long walk. It's a beautiful day, and she likes to walk by the pond. I think it has something to do with the geese and ducks that swim in the pond.

Some recent pictures for Project 365:

Since we're trying to eat healthier, here are some of our choices...My car, after Sugar got her pawprints all over it...and the ducks and geese on our walk today...
Today's music choice is Taylor Swift's newest CD, Fearless...really good!

I hate moving. Glad you can spend the time with your son though!

That is funny that you liked Marley and Me...I have been warning people away from it - LOL. Perhaps it was my frame of mind at the time, but it really was too heavy for me. So cute that Kaitlin said you missed your curfew! :)

First Day of School

It's tradition at my house to take a "first day of school" picture. The kids get less and less thrilled every year, but I still do it. Here are the twins before they left for their first day of senior year: Kind of funny that they both wore gray - unplanned of course! I think Kaitlin is putting in her plug for the college she'd like to go to. They had a good day. Found out that at 1800 students, Heights is over their limit by 400 students!!! OMG! I'm not sure what the answer is, but it is WAY TOO CROWDED! I think the northeast side of town needs a new high school. Something needs to be done! Just finished my Nora Roberts book, and have started New Moon, the second book in Stephenie Meyer's vampire series. Kaitlin took Abby to the vet yesterday to get her last distemper shot and a rabies shot. The vet told her that she comes from a line of very strong / physically superior cats. I knew there was some reason that she climbs EVERYWHERE in the house, including u...
