No, I Didn't Hit Him in the Head

with a frying pan. These are the injuries Corby got at 4am this morning when he passed out in the bathroom. I called an ambulance, and he was transported to St. Francis. After running blood tests and an EKG, they determined it was not a heart attack. Actually, they couldn't really determine what caused it. This has happened before - twice - but it's been about 7 years since the last one. He was having bad cramps and was nauseous before passing out. They call it "vasovagal syncope" - where extreme pain or shock makes you pass out. After running the tests and calling our doctor, they released him around 7am to rest at home for a few days. He will be going to the doctor on Monday and they will probably set him up with a 24 or 48-hour heart monitor just to make sure his heart is beating correctly. Needless to say it freaks me out when this happens. Nothing like waking up from a deep sleep by hearing a LOUD crash! He's a little stiff and sore from hitting - well - we're not really sure what he hit, but his shoulder hurts as well as his head. Kaitlin went to the hospital with me - we actually beat the ambulance there!

Keep us in your prayers!

I sure hope Corby is doing better now! Sorry to hear about your exciting night. I can't help putting the last 2 posts together, I would sure be sick if I unloaded 2 trucks in frigid weather. It was -2 here in IN when we arrived and the night before it was -20! Cold trip so far, hope it warms up tomorrow.

Things happen in groups it seems. Hope Corby is on his way to recovery and NEVER has another one of those attacks. Anne

Well i am glad Linda called me before i saw the picture of Corby. Looks like he was in a fight with the bathroom and the bathroom won. Believe me i have had fights with the kitchen and ended up sitting on the floor with a carton of cottage cheese in one hand, at least i didn't drop the cottage cheese, ha ha. Sometimes we have to laugh about things that happen in our lives. Love ya Rhonda

VACATION

On vacation for a few days (return to work on Thursday)...here's where I wish I was... I plan on enjoying some peace and quiet...and possibly, if I get motivated, getting some cleaning and organizing done in the office area of the basement. We'll see if that motivation arrives (it's not here yet)... Good news for Park City residents...recycling came to town the first of January. We are charged $4.00 month (added onto our already high water bill); but it has lowered the price of our trash pickup. The company P.C. contracted with has a much lower price than the company we use. Our company matched the price, so our trash bills went down (considerably) AND we get to recycle. We can recycle almost all our plastics, newspapers, cardboard, aluminum cans, cereal boxes, glass, motor oil, etc. We've got two big bags to set out tomorrow. Just doin' our part for the environment. We are without hot water right now...our hot water heater needs a new thermo-couple? It's a fair

Fun times with Lenore

While Lenore and Daniel were here, she had a library book panel at the Johnson County Library in Overland Park. So, on Tuesday afternoon, November 27th, Lenore, her friend Rachelle and I took off for KC. We had a great time visiting on the way up and back, and I didn't get tired at all driving! We stopped for a quick bite to eat at Arby's and filled up with gas at QT before heading to the library. It was an interesting panel featuring Bethany Hagen, author of Landry Park, which comes out next year; Gennifer Albin, author of Crewel, which was released a few months ago; and Lenore, whose book will be released on January 15. Here's the panel: Me & Lenore: Lenore & Rachelle: Gennifer, Bethany and Lenore
