We Got Him Moved

I was too tired to post last night, but we got Brandon moved yesterday. It was a long day, but we got everything done. His new dorm roommate wasn't back from Christmas break yet. I imagine he met him today. We hadn't eaten all day, so we took Brandon to Freddy's Frozen Custard before we left town. No, it wasn't in our plan for healthier eating, but we felt like we deserved it because we worked hard all day. Here's Corby pigging out on cones. He ordered a small vanilla cone, but the guy accidentally made him chocolate, and just gave it to us, along with the vanilla one. So of course I had to get a picture. He didn't make it through both cones, but he tried!

Here's me and my baby. Okay, so he's not my baby since he's the oldest - but as far as I'm concerned - when you're a mom - they're ALL your babies...

And here's a couple of pictures of the sun setting as we were driving home. This one is headed west into Salina...And this one is headed south on I-35 between Salina and McPherson.
My current book is Marley & Me by John Grogan. Since I enjoyed the movie, a friend loaned me the book. For those of you who have seen the movie, but NOT read the book - Marley was about 10 times WORSE than he was portrayed in the movie. I'm not sure I would have stuck with such an incorrigable animal. Okay, I probably would have, but still...

After a hard day's work like that, a couple of cones is a nice reward.

Fun times with Lenore

While Lenore and Daniel were here, she had a library book panel at the Johnson County Library in Overland Park. So, on Tuesday afternoon, November 27th, Lenore, her friend Rachelle and I took off for KC. We had a great time visiting on the way up and back, and I didn't get tired at all driving! We stopped for a quick bite to eat at Arby's and filled up with gas at QT before heading to the library. It was an interesting panel featuring Bethany Hagen, author of Landry Park, which comes out next year; Gennifer Albin, author of Crewel, which was released a few months ago; and Lenore, whose book will be released on January 15. Here's the panel: Me & Lenore: Lenore & Rachelle: Gennifer, Bethany and Lenore

K-STATE WINS!

K-STATE beat KU! AWESOME! It was a tense game. Corby is a huge KU fan, and even having a son at K-State hasn't changed that. I am happy when any Kansas team does well; but I had to root for K-State tonight. If the Jayhawks had to lose, I'm glad it was to K-State. Michael Beasley is a great player, and my only concern is that he will leave after his freshman year and go pro. WAY TO GO CATS!
