Another Day

It's getting a little more difficult trying to decide what to blog about. Since Facebook is all the rage, and very addictive, I still want to keep up with the blog so that family and friends can see how busy or boring our lives are on any given day.

Some recent picture for my scrapbooking project:

Here's my scrapbooking area - quite a mess, isn't it? As you can see I have a couple of Stampin' Up stamp sets that need "put together".We went to Famous Dave's in Manhattan last Friday before heading home. For some reason, we never go to the one in Wichita, but we've been to the one in Manhattan 3 or 4 times. Probably because there aren't a lot of choices of restaurants up there...When Brandon was home last weekend, his friend and former roommate Brady came over to play video games. It was quite funny, because Kaitlin got in on the action. She rarely plays, but wanted in on the action since they were playing each other online. Brandon and Kaitlin were at the kitchen table, (how do you like Kaitlin's Ninja headband?)while Brady and Kaleb were in the boys bedroom. They had quite a "war" going on. I cracked up laughing at their antics. And here's the latest Abby picture:
She loves this toy. When Kaitlin gets home from work, no matter where Abby is in the house, she comes running to the toy, sits beside it, and meows at Kaitlin. It's hilarious!

We're playing the car repair game again. Several weeks ago, Corby put new springs on my shocks. Last week, he put new shocks on Kaitlin's truck. And now, Kaleb's car is having trouble starting. We're not really sure what it is. But when he can't get it started he tends to flood it. Once he lets it sit awhile it will start. I think Corby's going to have to get the repair manual out and research this problem. It's always something with cars!

I haven't done a post about "Octo-Mom" - the single mom in California, who even though she already had 6 children under 8 years old (and 2 of them disabled) chose IVF and had 8 more babies. I feel so sorry for the children of this woman, and even though I think she loves her kids, I think they need to be taken away from her. We, as taxpayers, are going to pay to raise these children because of her mental instability, and it just "gets my goat" to think that she may actually profit from having these 14 young children. I did see today that the hospital may not release the babies to her care because they don't think she has the means to take care of them. As much as I'd hate to see them go into the foster care system, something needs to be done!

Today's music was Keith Urban's greatest hits. I have to get ready for his July concert (HA!).

I just finished James Patterson's new book Run For Your Life (very good!) and am getting ready to start While My Sister Sleeps by Barbara Delinsky.

Today's weather was awesome here in Wichita - 75 degrees! In February! Can you believe it? I am SOOOOOO ready for spring!

And I'll end with a quote: "Inside myself is a place where I live all alone, and that is where I renew my springs that never dry up." -- Pearl S. Buck

VACATION

On vacation for a few days (return to work on Thursday)...here's where I wish I was... I plan on enjoying some peace and quiet...and possibly, if I get motivated, getting some cleaning and organizing done in the office area of the basement. We'll see if that motivation arrives (it's not here yet)... Good news for Park City residents...recycling came to town the first of January. We are charged $4.00 month (added onto our already high water bill); but it has lowered the price of our trash pickup. The company P.C. contracted with has a much lower price than the company we use. Our company matched the price, so our trash bills went down (considerably) AND we get to recycle. We can recycle almost all our plastics, newspapers, cardboard, aluminum cans, cereal boxes, glass, motor oil, etc. We've got two big bags to set out tomorrow. Just doin' our part for the environment. We are without hot water right now...our hot water heater needs a new thermo-couple? It's a fair

K-STATE WINS!

K-STATE beat KU! AWESOME! It was a tense game. Corby is a huge KU fan, and even having a son at K-State hasn't changed that. I am happy when any Kansas team does well; but I had to root for K-State tonight. If the Jayhawks had to lose, I'm glad it was to K-State. Michael Beasley is a great player, and my only concern is that he will leave after his freshman year and go pro. WAY TO GO CATS!
