Nothing New

Not much out of the ordinary going on around here. It was a crazy week at work, but nothing I can go into here. I had a busy Saturday. We started our day off as we usually do - visiting mom. She is still struggling with her cable TV. She has a hard time remembering channels. Kaitlin typed her up a guide with the channels we know she will watch the most often. I also showed her how to use her up & down channel arrows so she can just look at numerous channels to see if there is something she wants to watch. The nurses and aides help her too. After we left there, Kaleb got a haircut at Fantastic Sam's and we did our grocery shopping at Leeker's. It was double $1 coupon week. I love getting things for FREE! I also went to a Party Lite candle show yesterday afternoon. I am going to have a show - it will be a BINGO show at the Airport Hilton. Not sure how one of these works, but we reserve tables for our guests, who play bingo to win Party Lite prizes. I'll be finding out more about it soon.

Kaitlin and I went to Target this morning and picked up some necessities. We also had to go back to Leeker's to pick up a few things because she decided to make an apple pie. She's off work today, so she helped us clean house too! And of course, Corby watched KU cream Missouri!

My current book is "This Side of Heaven" by Karen Kingsbury. She is a wonderful Christian author, and I've read all her books.

I saw today where Kathleen Sebelius is Obama's pick for the Department of Health and Human Services. I think she is a great choice!Today's music is the latest 3 Doors Down CD...

And, last but not least, today's quote: "You must look within for value. You must look beyond for perspective." -- Unknown

So who is going to govern Kansas then?

Lt. Gov. Mark Parkinson - he's actually a Heights graduate!

Would you let me know the next time Leeker's plans to have double coupons? Maybe I can take advantage. ~ Anne

I'll let you know Anne. I put a sticky note on my computer so I don't forget!

Fun times with Lenore

While Lenore and Daniel were here, she had a library book panel at the Johnson County Library in Overland Park. So, on Tuesday afternoon, November 27th, Lenore, her friend Rachelle and I took off for KC. We had a great time visiting on the way up and back, and I didn't get tired at all driving! We stopped for a quick bite to eat at Arby's and filled up with gas at QT before heading to the library. It was an interesting panel featuring Bethany Hagen, author of Landry Park, which comes out next year; Gennifer Albin, author of Crewel, which was released a few months ago; and Lenore, whose book will be released on January 15. Here's the panel: Me & Lenore: Lenore & Rachelle: Gennifer, Bethany and Lenore

K-STATE WINS!

K-STATE beat KU! AWESOME! It was a tense game. Corby is a huge KU fan, and even having a son at K-State hasn't changed that. I am happy when any Kansas team does well; but I had to root for K-State tonight. If the Jayhawks had to lose, I'm glad it was to K-State. Michael Beasley is a great player, and my only concern is that he will leave after his freshman year and go pro. WAY TO GO CATS!
