Senior Pictures

We spent most of the afternoon with my friend, Milt, in downtown Wichita. That's because Milt was taking Kaleb and Kaitlin's senior pictures. Yes, I waited this long intentionally. Neither one of them had a desire to go into a studio and have their picture taken, so we opted for the outdoor, natural approach. Milt took Brandon's senior pictures too, so I'm anxious to see the pictures from today. Our biggest enemy was the ferocious wind - gusting upwards of 30-40mph. We wandered the warehouse district downtown, and whenever we could find a spot out of the wind, we went for it. Kaitlin fought the wind with her hair all day, but I think Milt got some great pictures. He's got an eye for photography, though he just does it on the side. Having worked with me for about 12 or 13 years, he left several years ago to be the marketing manager for the local Harley Davidson dealership. Thanks Milt for a fun afternoon, even though I am still picking sand out of my teeth. And rest assured folks, I will be posting some pictures as soon as we get them!

I've got laundry started, and tomorrow I get to work filling out mom's application for Medicaid. Wish me luck, as I have to hunt for a LOT of paperwork - not even sure where it all is. I have a feeling Corby and I will be cleaning out the garage in the process!

I also want to say HI to my Uncle Louie - in St. Louis. He turns 85 on Monday. Louie is my dad's oldest brother, and a very special man. He's the only sibling left in my dad's family. They had a sister who died in her early 20's (she was gone before any of us kids were born); my dad died in 1994, and their youngest brother, Gerald died in the late 90's. Louie's health has been declining the last year or two, but he's still hanging in there. For 15 years we had annual family reunions, but we haven't had one since 2006, due to mom and Louie's health. We had some great times with our cousins and their families. I sure miss seeing them every year! HAPPY BIRTHDAY UNCLE LOUIE!

Can't wait to see the pictures. I know they'll be good - both the subjects and the photographer are awesome! Hope you can have some time to relax after getting your Mom's paperwork done. ~ Anne

I got my senior pictures the summer before my senior year. What pictures did they use for the yearbook?

they had pictures taken at school for the yearbook. Neither one of them even wanted to buy the yearbook because they do such a lousy job on them.

What's Good

Here's what's good right now: 1. Corby's OKAY after an accident at work today! He was on the forklift pulling onto a truck when the truck driver pulled away from the dock apparently to reallign himself (WHAT AN IDIOT DRIVER!!!) and he fell off the dock. Thank goodness there is a roll-bar on those forklifts. He has a headache and will probably be stiff tomorrow, but says he is okay. They sent him for a drug test. It's their policy if someone has an accident at work. 2. Feeling much better. I'm about 75% well now. Still have a cough and some sinus issues, but I think I'll survive. 3. Spending today with Kaleb & Kaitlin. 4. Having such good kids. Leeker's just called Kaitlin to see if she'd work longer hours today. They have a lot of employees out sick. She was supposed to work 4-8, but volunteered to work 2-9. Here's a pat on the back hon! 5. Enjoying some Josh Groban music. 6. Cleaning out my file cabinet and getting ready for 2008. I know, I...
