For Today

Outside my window...beautiful flowers and tomato plants

I am thinking...I really should spend some time organizing and straightening up my scrapbooking area

I am thankful for...my wonderful husband and kids. Corby is thoughtful, kind, helpful, sweet, strong, a great cook, and just a great person. Brandon is wonderfully kind with a big heart; Kaleb is funny, witty and sloppy; and Kaitlin is beautiful inside and out and very thoughtful. And they are all three smart, good with money and MINE!

From the kitchen...Corby is getting ready to fix us breakfast for dinner. Yummy!

I am wearing...black khakis, a sweatshirt (it's cold in the basement) and flip-flops.

I am creating...a scrapbook of my Keith Urban concert pictures.

I am going...to Manhattan next Saturday. Time to move the kids on to the next chapter of their lives.

I am reading...Black Hills by Nora Roberts, one of my favorite authors.

I am hoping...that the twins adjust easily to college life, and that all three kids find good, well-paying jobs that they like when they graduate from college.

I am hearing...Corby's baseball game on TV, Brandon's drums on Rock Band, the washer & dryer, and Cinnamon barking.

Around the house...there are a lot of dirty clothes sitting in laundry baskets waiting to be next in the washer.

One of my favorite things...relaxing with a good book each and every day of my life!

A few plans for the rest of the week...working Monday through Wednesday, then vacation until the following Wednesday. We will be going through Brandon's household items that we packed up in January to figure out what things the kids still need to buy/get before they head to Manhattan. Then we will spend Thursday and Friday packing them up and moving them on Saturday.

And a photo to share...Tuttle Creek State Park just north of Manhattan

I love that ... "For Today" ... in fact I made my own paper journal with those same prompts last month since I don't have a blog. I changed the "photo to share" to "a memory to share" since a photo won't fit on my page. I made my book 5 1/2 x 8 1/2. Anyway, it helps me get more written. I'm not as good at writing as you are.

Anne, that's a great idea for a scrapbook page. I'm really hoping to do a lot more scrapbooking and stamping when the kids leave. Did you win anything at Sandy's party last Saturday? I was bummed I couldn't go...

I did answer your question earlier in the day but must have forgotten to do something, as it didn't post.
There were only 5 (I think) at Sandy's on Saturday. Everybody won a prize for every time their name was in the pot. It was fun.

VACATION

On vacation for a few days (return to work on Thursday)...here's where I wish I was... I plan on enjoying some peace and quiet...and possibly, if I get motivated, getting some cleaning and organizing done in the office area of the basement. We'll see if that motivation arrives (it's not here yet)... Good news for Park City residents...recycling came to town the first of January. We are charged $4.00 month (added onto our already high water bill); but it has lowered the price of our trash pickup. The company P.C. contracted with has a much lower price than the company we use. Our company matched the price, so our trash bills went down (considerably) AND we get to recycle. We can recycle almost all our plastics, newspapers, cardboard, aluminum cans, cereal boxes, glass, motor oil, etc. We've got two big bags to set out tomorrow. Just doin' our part for the environment. We are without hot water right now...our hot water heater needs a new thermo-couple? It's a fair

K-STATE WINS!

K-STATE beat KU! AWESOME! It was a tense game. Corby is a huge KU fan, and even having a son at K-State hasn't changed that. I am happy when any Kansas team does well; but I had to root for K-State tonight. If the Jayhawks had to lose, I'm glad it was to K-State. Michael Beasley is a great player, and my only concern is that he will leave after his freshman year and go pro. WAY TO GO CATS!
