Uh........

It's been "one of those weeks". Got the scoop on my car on Tuesday - Magnetic speed sensor inside the transmission that needs replaced. Estimate $975. I said "NO" and picked up my car as it's still running. Thought about it for a couple of days, and decided to get it fixed. Even though I've had numerous issues with my car, I like it. We decided since we are not able to buy a new car right now (3 kids in college people!), it would be advantageous to fix it. So, I dropped it off at lunchtime today, and should have it back on Tuesday. Of course, we'll be about $1000 poorer! It's a good thing Corby will have a great check next week because of his recent overtime!

Today was wild at work. My assistant had to leave unexpectedly around 11:30. She had a wreck about 4 months ago that messed up her back and neck, and she was having major problems today. She went to the ER and got some strong pain medicine, but then had to go home. So I was thrown into a busy Friday by myself. It wasn't my week to work late and paginate classified, but I had to cover it for her. So Corby finally picked me up around 6:30. I am off Monday and Tuesday. So glad because I need those days to recuperate from this week! It's only going to get busier since it's the holiday season, but I'll survive.

Here are some recent pics:

Corby grilling us some burgers...he made enough for leftovers, so we ate them for several days!

Busy weekend ahead. We are going to a Jewish wedding tomorrow. It will be my first Jewish wedding. Vonnie is a good friend from work, and I'm so happy that she's found her soulmate!

Today's music was actually Bon Jovi. Waiting to see how much tickets will be for their concert at Intrust Bank Arena. I'd like to go, but we'll have to see whether it's affordable.

Was thinking about you yesterday and wondering about your car. It's a good thing Corby had that overtime. Unfortunately, it seems that extra money usually has to go for a "need" instead of a "want" ... oh well.
We'll be going to Reganne's 2nd birthday party this afternoon. Laurie will be bringing Lexi and then we'll be bringing her to Burns until tomorrow evening when we meet Jessica in El Dorado.
Hope you relax a bunch for the next few days.

I forgot (as usual) to say ... love the pictures. I can almost smell those burgers, Cinnamon looks very comfy, and the leaves ... gorgeous!

Fun times with Lenore

While Lenore and Daniel were here, she had a library book panel at the Johnson County Library in Overland Park. So, on Tuesday afternoon, November 27th, Lenore, her friend Rachelle and I took off for KC. We had a great time visiting on the way up and back, and I didn't get tired at all driving! We stopped for a quick bite to eat at Arby's and filled up with gas at QT before heading to the library. It was an interesting panel featuring Bethany Hagen, author of Landry Park, which comes out next year; Gennifer Albin, author of Crewel, which was released a few months ago; and Lenore, whose book will be released on January 15. Here's the panel: Me & Lenore: Lenore & Rachelle: Gennifer, Bethany and Lenore

K-STATE WINS!

K-STATE beat KU! AWESOME! It was a tense game. Corby is a huge KU fan, and even having a son at K-State hasn't changed that. I am happy when any Kansas team does well; but I had to root for K-State tonight. If the Jayhawks had to lose, I'm glad it was to K-State. Michael Beasley is a great player, and my only concern is that he will leave after his freshman year and go pro. WAY TO GO CATS!
