No pics today

Mom had an eye doctor appointment this afternoon, but I got a call from the nursing home this morning saying she didn't feel well and wanted me to cancel the appointment. So, I rescheduled for the end of January. It's been a quiet, relaxing day at our house.

Kaleb has been having computer problems, so he took his hard drive to Best Buy to have the "Geek Squad" give him the lowdown on what's wrong. He should know in the next few days. Kaitlin and Brandon went to Taco Bueno for lunch. I am not impressed with TB, so they went by themselves. Corby worked on Brandon's car, fixing the headlight, the hood latch and the manifold.  Everything is good with his car now. I'm working on my 5th load of laundry for today, after doing ALL the laundry on Sunday. We definitely have more with all the kids home for the holidays.

We also made a run to Leeker's to pick up some milk and cat litter. Yes, it's been a quiet day. Now we are ready to watch two basketball games - K-State and WSU. We'll be flipping the channels back and forth watching both games....

My current read: Mr. and Miss Anonymous by Fern Michaels. I'm hoping to finish it tonight.

Back to work tomorrow, but at least I only have to work 2 days this week! YIPPEE!!!! Also, we are hoping to get pre-approved for a new car, and hope to test drive a Suzuki SX4 Sport tomorrow night.

OK dear friend, i am going to pretend i didn't read that part about you not liking Taco Bueno. It is the single greatest fast food mexican on the planet. Luckily, your good features way outweigh that one tiny fault! Glad your kiddos are getting some quality time with you momma! Enjoy it!

Fun times with Lenore

While Lenore and Daniel were here, she had a library book panel at the Johnson County Library in Overland Park. So, on Tuesday afternoon, November 27th, Lenore, her friend Rachelle and I took off for KC. We had a great time visiting on the way up and back, and I didn't get tired at all driving! We stopped for a quick bite to eat at Arby's and filled up with gas at QT before heading to the library. It was an interesting panel featuring Bethany Hagen, author of Landry Park, which comes out next year; Gennifer Albin, author of Crewel, which was released a few months ago; and Lenore, whose book will be released on January 15. Here's the panel: Me & Lenore: Lenore & Rachelle: Gennifer, Bethany and Lenore

K-STATE WINS!

K-STATE beat KU! AWESOME! It was a tense game. Corby is a huge KU fan, and even having a son at K-State hasn't changed that. I am happy when any Kansas team does well; but I had to root for K-State tonight. If the Jayhawks had to lose, I'm glad it was to K-State. Michael Beasley is a great player, and my only concern is that he will leave after his freshman year and go pro. WAY TO GO CATS!
