Busy Saturday!

We had a busy day...

Kaitlin went to work for a few hours, so Corby, Brandon and I went to see my brother, Mike, and see if Corby could figure out why his truck was over-heating. After looking everything over, Corby determined that the radiator probably needed flushed, as it was full of dirt and sludge. He also told Mike that he needed oil and a new air filter. Hopefully that will fix the problem.

We went on over to Sam's, and picked up a few things that we needed. They were pretty busy, but we got in and out of there in a reasonable amount of time.

Since Brandon is hoping to move out soon, we headed over to Slumberland for a look at their furniture. Kaitlin met us there. He found a pretty nice couch for $799, but today was the last day of the sale. Since he hasn't settled on an apartment yet, he had nowhere to store it. Putting it in our garage for a week or longer is probably not a good thing as Sugar would probably use it/tear it up!

Made a quick stop at Target and then headed home to unload our goodies and grab a bite to eat. Then it was off to Dillons to do our grocery shopping.

It was after 3:30 before we got home. Kaitlin wanted to go to Red Robin for dinner. It's not one of my favorite places, so Corby and Brandon went with her.

Now we are watching the Chiefs preseason game, and they are already down 7-0 to the St. Louis Rams early in the first quarter. They won their first preseason game last week, so hopefully they can win this one too!

Fun times with Lenore

While Lenore and Daniel were here, she had a library book panel at the Johnson County Library in Overland Park. So, on Tuesday afternoon, November 27th, Lenore, her friend Rachelle and I took off for KC. We had a great time visiting on the way up and back, and I didn't get tired at all driving! We stopped for a quick bite to eat at Arby's and filled up with gas at QT before heading to the library. It was an interesting panel featuring Bethany Hagen, author of Landry Park, which comes out next year; Gennifer Albin, author of Crewel, which was released a few months ago; and Lenore, whose book will be released on January 15. Here's the panel: Me & Lenore: Lenore & Rachelle: Gennifer, Bethany and Lenore

K-STATE WINS!

K-STATE beat KU! AWESOME! It was a tense game. Corby is a huge KU fan, and even having a son at K-State hasn't changed that. I am happy when any Kansas team does well; but I had to root for K-State tonight. If the Jayhawks had to lose, I'm glad it was to K-State. Michael Beasley is a great player, and my only concern is that he will leave after his freshman year and go pro. WAY TO GO CATS!
