Windy Saturday

This is a picture of my mom and my daughter, Kaitlin, at my niece's wedding last May. My husband, Corby, Kaitlin, and her twin brother, Kaleb, are in Mt. Sequoyah, Arkansas this weekend on a mission trip for church. I miss them! They will be home tomorrow, and from the phone calls and text messages I've received, they are having a wonderful time! I took my mom to the store today. She was in a good mood, though grocery shopping wore her out. I've been busy taking care of all the animals - one of the chores I usually don't have to do. Between 2 indoor cats (one of them a WILD kitten!), one outdoor cat, and one outdoor dog, it's quite a chore! It's been EXTREMELY windy today (pretty much typical for spring in Kansas), and there are storms on the way tonight, so Cinnamon, our chow/husky, will probably end up sleeping with me. She's a big scaredy "dog" when it comes to thunder and lightning!

I am praying this evening for the family of the Blue Angels pilot who lost his life today performing in South Carolina. The Blue Angels are amazing, and even though they perform dangerous maneuvers, this is a tragic occurrence.

My quote for the day (can you tell I collect quotes?):
"There is a quality to being alone that is incredibly precious. Life rushes back into the void, richer, more vivid, fuller than before." -- Anne Morrow Lindbergh

K-STATE WINS!

K-STATE beat KU! AWESOME! It was a tense game. Corby is a huge KU fan, and even having a son at K-State hasn't changed that. I am happy when any Kansas team does well; but I had to root for K-State tonight. If the Jayhawks had to lose, I'm glad it was to K-State. Michael Beasley is a great player, and my only concern is that he will leave after his freshman year and go pro. WAY TO GO CATS!

Fun times with Lenore

While Lenore and Daniel were here, she had a library book panel at the Johnson County Library in Overland Park. So, on Tuesday afternoon, November 27th, Lenore, her friend Rachelle and I took off for KC. We had a great time visiting on the way up and back, and I didn't get tired at all driving! We stopped for a quick bite to eat at Arby's and filled up with gas at QT before heading to the library. It was an interesting panel featuring Bethany Hagen, author of Landry Park, which comes out next year; Gennifer Albin, author of Crewel, which was released a few months ago; and Lenore, whose book will be released on January 15. Here's the panel: Me & Lenore: Lenore & Rachelle: Gennifer, Bethany and Lenore
