Quiet Saturday!

Quiet Saturday in the Joplin house! That's because Corby and the kids went to Oklahoma to visit Grandpa Charles. They were supposed to go over Memorial Day weekend, but Charles wasn't feeling well. Since Corby's birthday was yesterday, and Charles' birthday is tomorrow, they decided to go down there and celebrate! It was also a good opportunity for Brandon to see his Grandpa for a bit before he heads off to K-State.

Needless to say, I am enjoying the peace and quiet. I had to work late last night, and then Kaleb's alarm clock woke me up at 7:30 this morning. Normally I can go right back to sleep, but for some reason I couldn't this morning. So I got up, read the paper, cleaned up the kitchen, did the grocery shopping at Leeker's and got a few things done around the house. Then I went and took mom to the grocery store. Let's just say today is not one of her most lucid days. She's having issues again about her clothing, but I won't go into the whole story here. I am glad she got out of the apartment though and went with me to Dillons. She didn't need many groceries, and I picked up just a few bargains.

My plan for tonight is to do laundry (it's already started) and do some scrapbooking. I haven't had the desire to do any for a while, and I'm thinking that's what I want to do tonight.

My current book: The 6th Target by James Patterson. I love his books. They are so easy to read!

Current fav music is REO Speedwagon. Been lovin' the 70's & 80's classic rock lately.

Fun times with Lenore

While Lenore and Daniel were here, she had a library book panel at the Johnson County Library in Overland Park. So, on Tuesday afternoon, November 27th, Lenore, her friend Rachelle and I took off for KC. We had a great time visiting on the way up and back, and I didn't get tired at all driving! We stopped for a quick bite to eat at Arby's and filled up with gas at QT before heading to the library. It was an interesting panel featuring Bethany Hagen, author of Landry Park, which comes out next year; Gennifer Albin, author of Crewel, which was released a few months ago; and Lenore, whose book will be released on January 15. Here's the panel: Me & Lenore: Lenore & Rachelle: Gennifer, Bethany and Lenore

K-STATE WINS!

K-STATE beat KU! AWESOME! It was a tense game. Corby is a huge KU fan, and even having a son at K-State hasn't changed that. I am happy when any Kansas team does well; but I had to root for K-State tonight. If the Jayhawks had to lose, I'm glad it was to K-State. Michael Beasley is a great player, and my only concern is that he will leave after his freshman year and go pro. WAY TO GO CATS!
