Fun Sunday!

We had a great time in Manhattan today! Brandon was working until 2, so we stopped by to say a quick "HI" when we got into town around 11:30. We dropped Kaleb off at the dorm so he could play video games with Brady, and then Kaitlin, Corby and I drove up to Tuttle Creek State Park to check it out. Corby and Kaitlin are always looking for good spots for camping and fishing. (I'll tell you why I don't camp at the end of this post!). Anyway, it was a beautiful day, and Tuttle Creek is nice! We found a lot of good camping sites, and even a spot where there were a few new tiny cabins (I might be persuaded to go if I get a cabin!).We even saw buffalo in the distance.
We headed back to Manhattan and went to Aggieville. Had to try out the Cold Stone Creamery. Corby finished off Kaitlin's pumpkin ice cream, since all he got was something to drink.
Brandon got off work early, so we hung around in their dorm room (claustrophobia!!!) while he took a quick shower. He had to work at 5am this morning, so didn't have time to take a shower. We took the boys to Target, where I got Brandon a new winter coat, and picked up a polo shirt and shorts for him clearance priced! I'm always looking for those bargains. We goofed around for a while and then went to eat at Famous Dave's. I didn't get any pictures there, as everyone was busy talking and I forgot!

Took a few pictures back at the dorm before heading home:We will see Brandon again next weekend, as he will be home to go to the Puddle of Mudd/Saliva concert on Sunday at the Cotillion, and then we head to KC on Mon. the 12th for GARTH! Brandon got his love of concerts from me. Maybe someday I will post a blog about all the artists I've seen over the years.

Oh yeah...the reason I don't like to camp? It has rained or SNOWED every time I've ever gone camping! I gave up going years ago. Thank goodness the twins like to camp, especially Kaitlin. The only way you can get me to go is to have a camper or a cabin! Not going to go the tent route ever again!

I'm looking forward to your post about all the artists you have seen. That would be a fun post. I am a concert junkie too. My husband not so much, so concert going has really slowed down for me over the years. ;o(

Fun times with Lenore

While Lenore and Daniel were here, she had a library book panel at the Johnson County Library in Overland Park. So, on Tuesday afternoon, November 27th, Lenore, her friend Rachelle and I took off for KC. We had a great time visiting on the way up and back, and I didn't get tired at all driving! We stopped for a quick bite to eat at Arby's and filled up with gas at QT before heading to the library. It was an interesting panel featuring Bethany Hagen, author of Landry Park, which comes out next year; Gennifer Albin, author of Crewel, which was released a few months ago; and Lenore, whose book will be released on January 15. Here's the panel: Me & Lenore: Lenore & Rachelle: Gennifer, Bethany and Lenore

K-STATE WINS!

K-STATE beat KU! AWESOME! It was a tense game. Corby is a huge KU fan, and even having a son at K-State hasn't changed that. I am happy when any Kansas team does well; but I had to root for K-State tonight. If the Jayhawks had to lose, I'm glad it was to K-State. Michael Beasley is a great player, and my only concern is that he will leave after his freshman year and go pro. WAY TO GO CATS!
