Congrats Melody!

Congratulations to my best friend Melody, who graduated from Friends University yesterday afternoon with an Associates Degree of General Studies. I am so proud of her. I couldn't imagine going back to school at our (tender) age, so kudos to her for reaching this milestone!

Last night, we went with a bunch of her friends to the Mosley Street Melodrama, and saw "My Big Fat Shotgun Wedding" and "Swingin' Sounds of the 60s". GREAT fun! Melody's nephew, Michael, and a young lady who was celebrating her bachelorette party, were pulled from the audience to compete against another couple (from the melodrama performers) in a mock dance contest. I didn't realize Michael was such a ham. (That's him on the left in the wild wig). He did great, and they won the contest, receiving free tickets to an upcoming Melodrama show.

I'm having a low-key mother's day. The kids are both working, I'm doing laundry, and Corby is going to grill pork chops later. We'll actually celebrate Mother's Day with my mom next Sunday, when Brandon is home and we can celebrate his birthday (May 16) at the same time!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL!

we were there -- SO many people!! good job, melody! we saw her on the big screen. :) attempted to walk to the bottom of the bleachers to holler "hey" when we were leaving, but... no way she'd be able to hear us, so we gave up.

First Day of School

It's tradition at my house to take a "first day of school" picture. The kids get less and less thrilled every year, but I still do it. Here are the twins before they left for their first day of senior year: Kind of funny that they both wore gray - unplanned of course! I think Kaitlin is putting in her plug for the college she'd like to go to. They had a good day. Found out that at 1800 students, Heights is over their limit by 400 students!!! OMG! I'm not sure what the answer is, but it is WAY TOO CROWDED! I think the northeast side of town needs a new high school. Something needs to be done! Just finished my Nora Roberts book, and have started New Moon, the second book in Stephenie Meyer's vampire series. Kaitlin took Abby to the vet yesterday to get her last distemper shot and a rabies shot. The vet told her that she comes from a line of very strong / physically superior cats. I knew there was some reason that she climbs EVERYWHERE in the house, including u...
