Heights Ritz

Every year, Height's music department's puts on the "Ritz" - their final performance of the year. Last night was the first of 3 Ritz performances, and the only one we could attend. There were some opening night jitters, but all in all, it was very good. Kaitlin sings with the concert choir, and they performed a medley of 80's songs, thus this rad 80's outfit (we went scouting Goodwill stores for these goodies!).
Here's the group - Kaitlin is the one with her mouth open directly under the "A" in Falcon. They performed some interesting choices: Call Me, Walk Like an Egyptian, Hey Mickey, Jessie's Girl, among a few more. They did dance steps with each song, and they did really good. In fact, they were the best thing about the first half of the program. After intermission, things picked up. Near the end, they always do a slide show of the seniors - a baby picture followed by their senior picture. We realized last night that we won't get to enjoy that part next year since Kaitlin will not be taking any music classes. She made the Madrigals, and in order to be in Madrigals, she also had to take concert choir. That was her two electives. Well, Heights opted to make one of their AP classes next year a 2 hour class, so she had to drop an elective. By dropping one music class, she had to drop both. BUMMER! We've been through 8 years of music programs with her - 4th thru 8th grade she played the flute, and at Heights she's been singing. Oh well, I guess academics are more important!

We have a busy day tomorrow. I have to get up early to buy Kansas State Fair tickets at 8am - for Styx & Kansas (did you doubt I would go?) and Gary Allan and Blake Shelton. Along with that we have grocery shopping, shopping at Sam's, a visit with mom, a graduation at the Coliseum, and a celebration for the graduate (my best friend Melody) at Mosley Street Melodrama. Sunday I will probably collapse. Oh no, that won't be possible, as I'll have tons of laundry and housecleaning to do. Oh, joy!

The next 6 weeks at work will be hectic. The girl who works for me has to have surgery on Monday, and she'll be gone for about 5 1/2 weeks. I'll muddle through - but for those of you who work with me - if I'm cranky, you'll know why!

I better get busy. Have to get my grocery list and coupons ready, and get laundry separated. Oh yeah, think I'll have another beer while I'm at it!Have a great weekend everyone!

VACATION

On vacation for a few days (return to work on Thursday)...here's where I wish I was... I plan on enjoying some peace and quiet...and possibly, if I get motivated, getting some cleaning and organizing done in the office area of the basement. We'll see if that motivation arrives (it's not here yet)... Good news for Park City residents...recycling came to town the first of January. We are charged $4.00 month (added onto our already high water bill); but it has lowered the price of our trash pickup. The company P.C. contracted with has a much lower price than the company we use. Our company matched the price, so our trash bills went down (considerably) AND we get to recycle. We can recycle almost all our plastics, newspapers, cardboard, aluminum cans, cereal boxes, glass, motor oil, etc. We've got two big bags to set out tomorrow. Just doin' our part for the environment. We are without hot water right now...our hot water heater needs a new thermo-couple? It's a fair

Terrible Day

I'm not going to go into a lot of detail here, but suffice it to say that I had a TERRIBLE day at work! I made a huge mistake costing the company some revenue, and I feel awful! I certainly didn't need anyone to get on my butt, because I was kicking myself for the better part of the day. I know, I know, I'm human, but this was a BIG human mistake! I hate to admit that I'm human! HATE TO MAKE MISTAKES - ESPECIALLY BIG ONES! Okay, that's it. I'm having a margarita and trying to relax now. I'm done with being human for a while!
