I Promised

This entire week has been spent cleaning out the office end of our family room. Of course, in the middle of all that, I decided I had enough scrapbooking, stamping and crafting stuff to have a garage sale. That was accomplished on Friday, with medium success. It was helped out at the end by my neighbor's mother purchasing 3 of my Longaberger baskets, and 2 additional sales on Saturday that amounted to $50! And I wasn't even having the sale on Saturday! One was the older lady who bought all my books, and one was a lady who came back to buy some of my scrapbooking kits. YIPPEE! I packed the rest away for the fall city-wide sale.

Anyway, I think I'll be brave enough to post before, during and after pics so you can see how much work this project was!

BEFORE:DURING: (everything was basically in the rec area of the room)
AFTER: (yes, that's Patrick Dempsey as the wallpaper on my computer)The furniture is still mix and match, but at least I have plenty of storage, and the drawer cabinets (2) that I got from work are AWESOME! I have all of my scrapbooking and stamping stuff in there, labeled on the outside of the drawer. Well, mostly labeled as we ran out of tape for the labeler. Will finish that sometime this week.I am exhausted! It's been a very busy week. I still have some stuff to put up out of the other end of the room, but the job is almost complete! I vow NEVER to let it get so unorganized again!

Fun times with Lenore

While Lenore and Daniel were here, she had a library book panel at the Johnson County Library in Overland Park. So, on Tuesday afternoon, November 27th, Lenore, her friend Rachelle and I took off for KC. We had a great time visiting on the way up and back, and I didn't get tired at all driving! We stopped for a quick bite to eat at Arby's and filled up with gas at QT before heading to the library. It was an interesting panel featuring Bethany Hagen, author of Landry Park, which comes out next year; Gennifer Albin, author of Crewel, which was released a few months ago; and Lenore, whose book will be released on January 15. Here's the panel: Me & Lenore: Lenore & Rachelle: Gennifer, Bethany and Lenore

K-STATE WINS!

K-STATE beat KU! AWESOME! It was a tense game. Corby is a huge KU fan, and even having a son at K-State hasn't changed that. I am happy when any Kansas team does well; but I had to root for K-State tonight. If the Jayhawks had to lose, I'm glad it was to K-State. Michael Beasley is a great player, and my only concern is that he will leave after his freshman year and go pro. WAY TO GO CATS!
