Enjoying my vacation, but....

I was hoping to have one day to myself, to relax and do whatever I wanted to do. Doesn't look like that will happen. The kids and I were gone most of the day yesterday - moving some furniture for my sister, shopping, meeting Corby for dinner at Texas Roadhouse (YUMMY!).

Today, Corby had a tooth extracted. They put him completely out, so he's been Mr. Groggy in la-la land! (But hey, he got a prescription for Loritab-YEAH!) The boys and I went to Sam's to pick up some things, including a new monitor for the kids computer. Corby won't be going back to work until Thursday. Tomorrow we have someone coming to look at the siding on our house. I guess there is a class action lawsuit against the makers of the siding, so we may be able to collect some money. Keep your fingers crossed! The kids and I have some more running to do, and then it's back to work on Thursday, UGH! Oh well, at least I only have to work 2 days this week!

Read the newest James Patterson book "Sail". It was a quick read, and one of his better books. Some of the books he's written the last few years have been really disjointed, but I enjoyed this one. If any of you want to read it, let me know, I'll loan it to you.

Picked up a couple of CD's at Sam's today also: John Mellencamp's "Life Death Love and Freedom" and Journey's "Revelation". I guess they have a new lead singer that's replaced Steve Perry (for those of you who are old Journey fans). This new CD has 2 CD's, one new and one remakes with the new lead singer, as well as a DVD concert. For just under $12, it was a bargain! Both CD's are really good!

I also picked up Wheel of Fortune and Rock and Roll Jeopardy for the computer. HEATHER, you could probably kick some serious bootie at Jeopardy. Me, I'm doing okay, but since it goes from the 60's clear through today there are some years in there that I lack knowledge - specifically the late 80's/early 90's when my kids were born. Anyway, I'm addicted to both games. I've played about 2 hours late this afternoon. I think I need to stop and go get some laundry going, or at least try to do something productive!

Linda -
Does that new singer sounds just like Steve Perry or what?? It's crazy.
I may have to try and find me a computer trivia game.
Today's my Friday. whoot-whoot.
the guy next to me on the plane was reading Sail and he looked like he was enjoying it!

Fun times with Lenore

While Lenore and Daniel were here, she had a library book panel at the Johnson County Library in Overland Park. So, on Tuesday afternoon, November 27th, Lenore, her friend Rachelle and I took off for KC. We had a great time visiting on the way up and back, and I didn't get tired at all driving! We stopped for a quick bite to eat at Arby's and filled up with gas at QT before heading to the library. It was an interesting panel featuring Bethany Hagen, author of Landry Park, which comes out next year; Gennifer Albin, author of Crewel, which was released a few months ago; and Lenore, whose book will be released on January 15. Here's the panel: Me & Lenore: Lenore & Rachelle: Gennifer, Bethany and Lenore

K-STATE WINS!

K-STATE beat KU! AWESOME! It was a tense game. Corby is a huge KU fan, and even having a son at K-State hasn't changed that. I am happy when any Kansas team does well; but I had to root for K-State tonight. If the Jayhawks had to lose, I'm glad it was to K-State. Michael Beasley is a great player, and my only concern is that he will leave after his freshman year and go pro. WAY TO GO CATS!
