Back to work

I went back to work yesterday, after a total of 11 days off! That was tough! I love my job, but think I could get used to early retirement! I don't think that will happen anytime soon though, since we have three kids in college!

Corby is still trying different "fixes" for my car. At least it's still running. We know the problem is with the emissions, we're just not ready to replace the EGR valve for $200 unless we know for sure that's the problem. Our neighbor Tom hooked it up to his mechanic computer Tuesday night, and confirmed it's an emission problem. It just doesn't pinpoint whether it's the EGR valve. Corby is going to take it off, clean it and reseal it. Hopefully that will fix the problem. I don't want to invest a bunch more money into this car, especially since they won't be making Saturns anymore.

We are trying to decide where to go for dinner on Saturday night. We'll be celebrating my birthday, which is Monday. No big deal, it's just another (high!) number, but at least it beats the alternative. Corby wants me to pick the restaurant, and I'm having trouble coming up with someplace different. Oh well, I have two more days to decide!

It was confirmed today that Bon Jovi is coming to the new Intrust Bank Arena next March. I'm there unless ticket prices are ridiculous. I've never seen them, but would love to!

One more day in this long, but short, week. I know I'm only working 3 days, but it already seems like 5!

Happy weekend everyone!

I know there are folks out there who read my blog, at least once in a while. Would you please do me a favor? Would you make a comment every now and then? It's easy...just click on comment, and if you don't have any of the accounts set up that are listed, you can post as "anonymous". Just identify yourself in the comment. I'd like to know how many people out there are actually reading my blog, albeit occasionally. THANKS!

Isn't This Gross?

Corby lets Muffin drink out of his milk glass. Isn't that disgusting? I love animals, but I sure don't share my drinks with them. YUCK! Brandon will be home tomorrow - on his 19th birthday! His last final is at 12:30. Corby & Kaleb are headed up to help him bring his stuff home. I was planning on going, but because Hope is out on medical leave, I can't take off. That's okay - I really wasn't looking forward to carrying his stuff down 7 flights of stairs! YIPPEE - MY BABY IS COMING HOME FOR THE SUMMER! Does anyone else out there love "House Hunters" - the show on HGTV? For some reason, that show grabs me. I like to see the 3 houses the couples (sometimes singles) choose from. Of course, most of them have a lot more money than we do! Saw one last night that was a young couple in Chicago - lived in the inner city, but with 2 kids decided to move to the suburbs. Their goal was to find a house for under $1,000,000. That a million dollars folks! How can peop...

Terrible Day

I'm not going to go into a lot of detail here, but suffice it to say that I had a TERRIBLE day at work! I made a huge mistake costing the company some revenue, and I feel awful! I certainly didn't need anyone to get on my butt, because I was kicking myself for the better part of the day. I know, I know, I'm human, but this was a BIG human mistake! I hate to admit that I'm human! HATE TO MAKE MISTAKES - ESPECIALLY BIG ONES! Okay, that's it. I'm having a margarita and trying to relax now. I'm done with being human for a while!
