Rascal Flatts and more...

Kaitlin and I went to the Rascal Flatts concert at Intrust Bank Arena Thursday night. This has become a mother/daughter tradition...

I must say, of all their concerts I've seen, this was probably the best one. The sound was wonderful, and we ended up with SECOND row seats.

First up was Chris Young, he wasn't on long, but I enjoyed him.

Second up was Kellie Pickler. I've liked a few of her songs, and she sounded good too.

Then came RF - lead singer Gary LeVox, along with JoeDoe Rooney (from Picher, Oklahoma) and Kaitlin's favorite - Jay DeMarcus.

I only took a few pictures because my batteries were about dead, but Kaitlin took over 200 photos! She narrowed them down to about 160. Here are some of the best:

Kaleb came home on Friday and went camping with some friends. He was back late yesterday afternoon, so we went out to Abuelo's for dinner:

and of course I had to have a yummy margarita

Today I'm busy doing my normal Sunday chores - paying bills and doing laundry. We went to Sam's to pick up a few things and spent over $100. You can't go to Sam's and spend less than that - at least WE can't!

she's in the fan club and they only sell 100 tix per show. She was online the minute they became available, but you never know where your seats are because you can't pick them up until the evening of the concert. She was pretty thrilled!

Fun times with Lenore

While Lenore and Daniel were here, she had a library book panel at the Johnson County Library in Overland Park. So, on Tuesday afternoon, November 27th, Lenore, her friend Rachelle and I took off for KC. We had a great time visiting on the way up and back, and I didn't get tired at all driving! We stopped for a quick bite to eat at Arby's and filled up with gas at QT before heading to the library. It was an interesting panel featuring Bethany Hagen, author of Landry Park, which comes out next year; Gennifer Albin, author of Crewel, which was released a few months ago; and Lenore, whose book will be released on January 15. Here's the panel: Me & Lenore: Lenore & Rachelle: Gennifer, Bethany and Lenore

K-STATE WINS!

K-STATE beat KU! AWESOME! It was a tense game. Corby is a huge KU fan, and even having a son at K-State hasn't changed that. I am happy when any Kansas team does well; but I had to root for K-State tonight. If the Jayhawks had to lose, I'm glad it was to K-State. Michael Beasley is a great player, and my only concern is that he will leave after his freshman year and go pro. WAY TO GO CATS!
