July 2010 Books

I read 6 books this month. I don't seem to have as much time to read right now...

1) Broken - Karin Slaughter
2) Take Four (Above the Line Series) - Karen Kingsbury
3) The 9th Judgment - James Patterson w/Maxine Paetro
4) I Just Want You to Know - Kate Gosselin
5) One Night - Debbie Macomber
6) The Search - Nora Roberts

I think Slaughter is one of the best suspense writers out there today! I just love her books, and this was one of her best!

Karen Kingsbury's Above the Line Series has some characters in it from previous series. It's about Christian filmmakers who are trying to make Christian movies - an enjoyable series.

James Patterson continues his Women's Murder Club series with The 9th Judgment. I'm a big Patterson fan, though some of his latest books have been disappointing. Not this one though! Good read!

Macomber's books are always easy to read and fun.

Nora Robert's novel was one of her best. The main character was a search & rescue dog trainer, and I learned some great dog-training tricks!

Edited to add (thanks for the reminder Lenore): Gosselin's book was very interesting. For some reason, even though she's pretty much a train wreck, I find their lives interesting. She was very honest about her marriage/divorce issues.

I-Pod Mania

What's Good

Here's what's good right now: 1. Corby's OKAY after an accident at work today! He was on the forklift pulling onto a truck when the truck driver pulled away from the dock apparently to reallign himself (WHAT AN IDIOT DRIVER!!!) and he fell off the dock. Thank goodness there is a roll-bar on those forklifts. He has a headache and will probably be stiff tomorrow, but says he is okay. They sent him for a drug test. It's their policy if someone has an accident at work. 2. Feeling much better. I'm about 75% well now. Still have a cough and some sinus issues, but I think I'll survive. 3. Spending today with Kaleb & Kaitlin. 4. Having such good kids. Leeker's just called Kaitlin to see if she'd work longer hours today. They have a lot of employees out sick.
