August Books

I read 11 books  in August - 10 by female authors, 1 by a male author.

1) Judgment Call by J.A. Jance (hardback) - another great book by Jance!
2) Forever After by Karen Rose Smith (Kindle) - enjoyed this one.
3) Catching Fireflies by Sherryl Woods (Kindle) - LOVE Woods books!
4) Moonshell Beach by JoAnn Ross (Kindle) - I'm a Ross fan!
5) I, Michael Bennett by James Patterson (hardback) - enjoyed it but had a frustrating ending
6) The Inn at Rose Harbor by Debbie Macomber (Kindle) A bit of a miss from Macomber, but still enjoyable
7) The Wedding Gift by Lucy Kevin (Kindle) - okay
8) A Baby of Her Own by Brenda Novak (Kindle) - enjoyed it and plan to read more of her books

9) Friends Forever by Danielle Steel (hardback) - extremely frustrating & sad. You can expect sadness and then ultimately happiness in most of her books, but this was too much
10) Hooked by Polly Iver (Kindle) - hated it, couldn't even finish so I guess this counts as 1/3 read

11) Chasing Perfect by Susan Mallery (Kindle) - found a new author and series based on a town named Fool's Gold. You'll understand my fascination in the series when you see my September books read. (I'm now on the 3rd book of the series and it's only Sept. 3)...

All in all, it was a good month for reading. As you can see, I read more "fluff" than anything else last month. I have the new Tess Gerritsen book "Last To Die" on the way, and the new Linwood Barclay book comes out on Tuesday. Really excited about reading both of them!

I read your blog, however, some of them are really hard to read when you used different colors, hard to read the one about Brandon's new apartment, it is just too dark.

First Day of School

It's tradition at my house to take a "first day of school" picture. The kids get less and less thrilled every year, but I still do it. Here are the twins before they left for their first day of senior year: Kind of funny that they both wore gray - unplanned of course! I think Kaitlin is putting in her plug for the college she'd like to go to. They had a good day. Found out that at 1800 students, Heights is over their limit by 400 students!!! OMG! I'm not sure what the answer is, but it is WAY TOO CROWDED! I think the northeast side of town needs a new high school. Something needs to be done! Just finished my Nora Roberts book, and have started New Moon, the second book in Stephenie Meyer's vampire series. Kaitlin took Abby to the vet yesterday to get her last distemper shot and a rabies shot. The vet told her that she comes from a line of very strong / physically superior cats. I knew there was some reason that she climbs EVERYWHERE in the house, including u...
